Ltd. in collaboration with South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) under the “My School My Startup” initiative.
The event brought together the top 10 shortlisted student teams, who presented their startup concepts before a panel of judges and guests. Through robots, working models and prototypes, the students demonstrated how technology can be applied to address real-life challenges in practical and innovative ways.
What stood out was the effective integration of hardware and software in several projects. The ideas reflected not only technological understanding but also an ability to identify everyday problems and develop solutions with future applications in mind. The projects were assessed on parameters including originality, technical understanding and the usefulness of the proposed solutions.
The “My School My Startup” initiative is being implemented by Codevidhya with the support of SECL across all nine DAV schools operated under SECL. The programme aims to provide students with practical, skill-oriented exposure to emerging areas such as digital marketing, data analytics, financial literacy, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics and entrepreneurship.
Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL, was the chief guest at the event. Appreciating the innovative ideas and prototypes presented by the students, Das encouraged them to continue exploring new possibilities and developing solutions to contemporary challenges.
Speaking to the media, Das emphasised the importance of providing young people with platforms where they can demonstrate their talent and creativity. He said that children are the future of the country and that sustained efforts at different levels are essential to nurture innovation and emerging talent. He observed that the young innovators of today could play an important role in finding solutions to challenges affecting human life across diverse sectors in the future.
### Smart Watch for Dogs Wins Top Honour
The “Smart Watch for Dogs” emerged as the winning idea at Ideathon 2026, earning the team a ₹50,000 prize. The concept demonstrated how wearable technology could potentially be used to address practical needs associated with the care and monitoring of dogs.

### From Job Seekers to Job Creators
The larger objective of the initiative is to move students beyond conventional notions of education and employment and encourage them to think like entrepreneurs.
Shivram, Founder of Codevidhya, said the “My School My Startup” programme seeks to inspire students not merely to become job seekers but to develop the mindset and capabilities to become job creators. The initiative focuses on cultivating entrepreneurship, innovation and problem-solving skills at an early stage.
K. Parthipan, Principal, DAV Public School, said the robots and prototypes presented by the students reflected their creativity, technical understanding and willingness to experiment with new ideas.
The programme concluded with Chaitanya, Project Manager, Codevidhya, expressing gratitude to the guests, teachers, parents and students for their participation and support.
Ideathon 2026 underlines how structured exposure to technology and entrepreneurship can help young students transform classroom learning into practical solutions. More importantly, it provides them with an early opportunity to think beyond examinations and explore the possibilities of innovation, enterprise and social impact.
