Understanding Rights Alongside Duties is Essential: Ashok Kumar Goyal

Under the public awareness initiative of the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission, a district-level essay and painting competition was organized by the Non-Government School Organization and Innovative School. The prize distribution ceremony of the competition was held with great enthusiasm.
The chief guest of the program was Ashok Kumar Goyal, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission, Bhopal. The event was presided over by Rajesh Khatri, President of the Non-Government Education Association, while Dinesh Mishra attended as the special guest. On this occasion, the oath-taking ceremony of the Innovative Public School’s Student Council was also conducted.
The guests were warmly welcomed by Innovative School Secretary Mirza Mushahid Baig along with representatives from private schools including Premnath Tiwari, Mithlesh Yadav, Suresh Chavan, Surendra Rathore, Haji Shakeel Sheikh, and Mahboob Sheikh. From the District Advocates Association, Chandrapal Singh Solanki extended greetings.
The competition focused on two significant themes – “We Need Peace, Not War” and “Human Rights and Duties”. More than 500 students from 14 schools participated with great zeal. Winners, runners-up, and other participants were felicitated with certificates and trophies by the distinguished guests.
The event also featured the distribution and reading of pamphlets on human rights for students, along with a play performed by Kautilya School, Dewas, spreading awareness on the subject. The oath ceremony of the Innovative School Student Council was conducted, and the students presented an impressive march-past accompanied by a school band.
Adding to the celebrations, the attendees also marked the birthday of Ashok Kumar Goyal by distributing notebooks to underprivileged children from Government Secondary School, Mahakal Colony.
In his address, Ashok Kumar Goyal emphasized, “Along with being aware of our rights, it is equally important to fulfill our duties sincerely. Live fearlessly; the police are always committed to your safety.”
Rajesh Khatri praised the Commission’s initiative as commendable, while Traffic Police In-charge Pawan Kumar Bagdi informed the gathering about awareness campaigns being run by the traffic police. The chief guest also planted a sapling in the school premises, symbolizing growth and responsibility. Guests were presented with saplings as mementos by Mirza Mushabbir Baig and Syed Sadaqat Ali.
The event was efficiently conducted by Principal Syed Maqsood Ali, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mirza Mushahid Baig. Among the dignitaries present were Anuj Jaiswal, Farooq Pathan, Chetan Yadav, and Sanjay Dewal, along with many others.
