CIL in a new initiative is upgrading old dumpers with the help of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). In a pilot project in Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), the Central Workshop (CWS) in association with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), has made phenomenal changes in the main frame, dump body guide, operator’s cabin, hydraulic tank and parking brake system of the dumpers. These changes have led to better operator comfort, improved reliability and enhanced safety features.

Two dumpers have been fully upgraded at the CWS of NCL and are deployed at Block-B coal project showing a robust performance. Buoyant, NCL has sent another three dumpers for upgradation.
