New Delhi, May 26, 2025 — Vineet Satyanarayanan Nair, a 2011-batch officer of the Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES), has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs. His appointment comes under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Nair was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Defence. Following his selection, he has been directed to be relieved of his current duties immediately, with instructions to promptly take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative capabilities across key ministries by deploying experienced officers through the Central Staffing Scheme.
