Sinha is BE in Electrical Engineering and began his professional carreer as probationary executive in NHPC in the year 1989 from Tanakpur Hydroelectric Project in Uttarakhand. During his distinguished career spanning over 32 years in NHPC, Sinha scaled new heights and elevated to the post of Executive Director. Sinha has extensive experience in Erection, Testing and Commissioning of Tanakpur, Chutak, Parbati-2 Power Station, Kalpong HE Project (A&N) and Kurichu Hydroelectric Project (Bhutan) along with Operation and Maintenance of Hydro Power Plants. During his long association with NHPC he has served the organization with notable contributions. He has been instrumental in optimizing the operational performance of the power stations within the regulatory framework. He is known for his visionary approach and dynamic decision making with excellent performance records. As a Professional Manager and Strategic Planner, he has led several initiatives for improving reliability and efficiency of Hydro Power Plants. During his tenure at O&M Division, Corporate Office he has been instrumental in adaptation of best O&M practices in all 20 Hydro Power Stations of NHPC. He played a major role in successful Renovation & modernization of old units of 180 MW Bairasiul Power Station.

He also held the O&M Head Executive position in Ethiopian Electricity Power Corporation (EEPCO), during 2013-15 as NHPC expert representative for reforming the EEPCO, under Management Consultancy Contract. He is presently also associated as Chairman and nominee Director of National High Power Test Laboratory (NHPTL), Bina, Distt. Sagar (M.P.), a Joint Venture Company of NHPC, NTPC, PGCIL, DVC & CPRI. NHDC Limited, a Joint Venture Company of NHPC Limited and Government of Madhya Pradesh, incorporated in the year 2000, is the largest Hydropower producing Company in the State of Madhya Pradesh having its 2 Projects – 1000 MW Indira Sagar and 520 MW Omkareshwar.

वी.के. सिन्हा ने 1 अक्टूबर 2021 को हरीश कुमार के स्थानांतरण के पश्चात एनएचडीसी के प्रबंध निदेशक का पदभार ग्रहण किया, वी.के. सिन्हा, इलेक्ट्रिकल में इंजीनियरिंग स्नातक है उन्होने उत्तराखंड में टनकपुर जल विद्युत परियोजना से वर्ष 1989 में एनएचपीसी में परिवीक्षाधीन कार्यपालक के रूप में अपना पेशेवर करियर शुरू किया ।

एनएचपीसी में 32 वर्षों से अधिक के अपने विशिष्ट करियर के दौरान, सिन्हा ने नई ऊंचाइयों को छुआ और कार्यकारी निदेशक के पद पर पदोन्नत हुए । सिन्हा को टनकपुर, चुटक, पार्बती-2 पावर स्टेशन, कलपोंग जलविद्युत परियोजना (ए एंड एन) और कुरिचु जलविद्युत परियोजना (भूटान) के साथ-साथ हाइड्रो पावर प्लांट के संचालन और रखरखाव के निर्माण, परीक्षण और कमीशनिंग का व्यापक अनुभव है ।

एनएचपीसी के साथ अपने लंबे जुड़ाव के दौरान उन्होंने उल्लेखनीय योगदान के साथ संगठन की सेवा की है । उन्होंने नियामक ढांचे के भीतर बिजली स्टेशनों के परिचालन प्रदर्शन को अनुकूलित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है । वह अपने दूरदर्शी दृष्टिकोण और उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन रिकॉर्ड के साथ गतिशील निर्णय लेने के लिए जाने जाते हैं । एक पेशेवर प्रबंधक और रणनीतिक योजनाकार के रूप में, उन्होंने जल विद्युत संयंत्रों की विश्वसनीयता और दक्षता में सुधार के लिए कई पहलूओं का नेतृत्व किया है । ओ एंड एम डिवीजन, कॉरपोरेट ऑफिस में अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान उन्होंने एनएचपीसी के सभी 20 हाइड्रो पावर स्टेशनों पर सर्वोत्तम ओ एंड एम प्रथाओं के अनुकूलन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है । उन्होंने 180 मेगावाट बैरास्यूल पावर स्टेशन की पुरानी इकाइयों के सफल नवीनीकरण और आधुनिकीकरण में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाई ।

वी.के. सिन्हा ने मैनेजमेंट कंसल्टेंसी कॉन्ट्रैक्ट के तहत इथियोपियाई इलेक्ट्रिसिटी पावर कॉरपोरेशन (EEPCO) में सुधार के लिए NHPC विशेषज्ञ प्रतिनिधि के रूप में वर्ष 2013-15 के दौरान O&M हेड एक्जीक्यूटिव पद भी संभाला । वह वर्तमान में राष्ट्रीय उच्च शक्ति परीक्षण प्रयोगशाला (एनएचपीटीएल), बीना जिला सागर मध्य प्रदेश, जो कि एनएचपीसी, एनटीपीसी, पीजीसीआईएल, डीवीसी और सीपीआरआई की संयुक्त उद्यम कंपनी हैं, के अध्यक्ष और नामित निदेशक के रूप में भी जुड़े हुए हैं । एनएचडीसी लिमिटेड, एनएचपीसी लिमिटेड और मध्य प्रदेश सरकार की एक संयुक्त उद्यम कंपनी, जिसकी स्थापना वर्ष 2000 में हुई, मध्य प्रदेश राज्य की सबसे बड़ी जलविद्युत उत्पादक कंपनी है, इसकी 2 परियोजनाएं हैं – 1000 मेगावाट इंदिरा सागर और 520 मेगावाट ओंकारेश्वर खंडवा जिले मे संचालित है
