WAPCOS Secures Key Sanitation Project in Ethiopia’s Somali Region

(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) New Delhi, May 26: In a significant boost to its global footprint in the water and sanitation sector, WAPCOS Ltd. has been awarded a prestigious consultancy project in Ethiopia for the design review, construction supervision, contract management, operations & maintenance (O\&M), and capacity building for Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) in the towns of Jigjiga and Degahbour, located in the Somali Region.

The contract agreement for the project has been signed with the Somali Regional State Water Bureau. The initiative is funded by the World Bank through the Ministry of Water & Energy, Government of Ethiopia, underscoring strong international cooperation in addressing sanitation and public health challenges.

As part of the preparatory activities, productive discussions were held between WAPCOS officials and key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry and the client, to ensure smooth execution of the project and alignment with local development goals.

This project marks yet another milestone in WAPCOS’ commitment to sustainable development and global partnerships in infrastructure and sanitation services. The company continues to play a vital role in supporting developing nations in achieving clean and efficient waste management solutions.
