Abhay Kumar Singh relinquished the charge of Chairman & Managing Director NHPC Limited in February 2020. After completing a remarkable tenure in NHPC Limited., Abhay Kumar Singh has been recognised for his invaluable contribution and pioneering work towards creating a world-class organisation in the industry. During his entire service tenure he has been known as a visionary and has brought sea-change in the functioning of the organisation and project management and its delivery.

His ability to execute to perfection a wide range of end-to-end projects is well recognised in industry circles. Abhay Kumar Singh had been instrumental in setting new benchmarks and is credited with adopting new technologies for developing new avenues of growth of the organisation.

NHPC reports 15% jump in Net Profit. Records highest ever Quarter-I Standalone Profit after Tax of Rs 1050 Crore. Riding on strong operating performance, NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company has reported a 15% jump in Net profit. The Company has recorded the Highest ever Quarter-I Standalone Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 1050 Crore against PAT of Rs 912 Crore for the corresponding previous quarter. The NHPC Board approved the Q-1 FY22-23 results in their meeting held on 10th August 2022.

NHPC has declared its Standalone and Consolidated unaudited Financial Results for the 3rd quarter and nine-months ended 31st December 2021. Standalone Profit after Tax has increased by 5% from Rs. 2829 Crore during the nine-months ended 31st December, 2020 to Rs.2978 crore for nine-months ended 31st December 2021.

NHPC Limited India’s premier hydropower company signed Contract Agreement with M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. for EPC contract for development of 300 MW solar project under CPSU scheme Phase-II on 24.05.2022.

NHPC Limited has achieved highest ever daily generation of 125.93 MUs on 30.07.2022, surpassing previous highest generation of 123.63 MU achieved on 11.07.22. Abhay Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC limited congratulated Team NHPC for this achievement.

Under the dynamic leadership of A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC and in line with the country’s resolve to reduce the carbon footprint in the Power Sector, NHPC signed two MoUs for Development of “Pilot Green Hydrogen Technologies” in District Leh and District Kargil of UT of Ladakh on 14th July 2022. The MOUs were signed in the august presence of R.K. Mathur, Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh.

Three Oxygen generation plants installed by NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company were inaugurated today at District Civil Hospital (B K Hospital), Faridabad. Haryana, District Hospital, Siddharthnagar, UP and CHC, Dharchula, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand having capacities of 1000 LPM (Litres Per Minute), 570 LPM and 200 LPM respectively.

NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company took over Jal Power Corporation Ltd. on 31st March 2021 after payment of resolution amount of Rs 165 Crore into the Lenders designated account.

NHPC has reported highest ever net profit after tax of Rs 3233.37 Crore on standalone basis in the FY 2020-21 compared to Rs 3007.17 Crore for the last fiscal year. Revenue from operation for the FY 2020-21 stood at Rs 8506.58 crore compared to Rs 8735.15 crore in the last fiscal year. Consolidated net profit for 2020-21 stood at Rs 3582.13 crore, compared to Rs 3,344.91 crore in 2019-20.
