S.B. Mainak MD of LIC is retiring by the end of February. Presently
LIC has only three MDs and they are V K Sharma S B Mainak and Ms. Usha Sangwan the post of forth MD is never filled however provision is there for four MDs. After the retirement of Mainak LIC will be left with only two MDs. Hoever there are many eliglible candidates for the posts of vacant MD office.

Five candidates in race of lic MD, they are Vinay Sahai – presently Director Marketing of LIC, Venu Gopal – Zonal Manager – Western Zone, Sharad Shrivastav – Zonal Manager – Central Zone, Ms. Sunita Sharma – present CEO, LIC Housing and Ms. Saroj Dekhne – CEO LIC, Mutual fund. It is assumed to the clouds will be cleared in March 2016 after Mainak retirement. GoI may take a call on this pressing issue.
