The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Steel for appointment of Ajit Kumar Saxena, Director (Operations), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) in Management Ore India (MOIL) for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation ie. 31.12.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

In 1986, Ajit Kumar Saxena began working as a management trainee (in a technical department). Throughout his 33-year of working career with SAIL, he held a variety of duties, beginning with the Bhilai Steel Plant.

Saxena earned a B.Tech in metallurgy science from the Banaras Hindu University Institute of Technology before going on to earn an MBA (Master of Business Administration). Also, he is the recipient of the Ministry of Steel’s “Young Metallurgist of the Year Award” for 2000.
