ACC Approves Key Bureaucratic Appointments and Extensions Across Ministries

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared several high-level appointments and extensions across key government departments and agencies as part of ongoing administrative restructuring.

Samuel Praveen Kumar Appointed Director at Central Warehousing Corporation
The ACC has approved the Department of Food and Public Distribution’s proposal to appoint Samuel Praveen Kumar, currently Joint Secretary (Extension, Investment & Price Support) in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning) at the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).

Rakesh Kumar Pandey’s Tenure Extended at Ministry of Home Affairs
Rakesh Kumar Pandey, IDAS (2003 batch), serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, has received a one-year extension in his central deputation tenure, following ACC approval of the Ministry’s proposal.

Dr. M. Ravichandran Gets Extension as Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences
Dr. M. Ravichandran will continue as Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences for one more year beyond the date of his superannuation. The ACC has approved the extension from 1st June 2025 to 31st May 2026.

Anwesh Kumar Aileni Appointed Deputy Secretary in DGTR
Anwesh Kumar Aileni, IRSME (2013 batch), has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Department of Commerce, under the Central Staffing Scheme for four years. His position was created by downgrading a vacant post of Additional Director General of Foreign Trade in DGTR.

Amit Sharma Takes Over as Director in Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare
Amit Sharma, IRAS (2011 batch), has been appointed as Director in the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, Delhi. His tenure will span five years from the date of assuming charge.

Sumeet Singh Appointed Director in Capacity Building Commission
Sumeet Singh, IRTS (2008 batch), has been selected for appointment as Director in the Capacity Building Commission under the Department of Personnel & Training, Delhi. The appointment, under the Central Staffing Scheme, will last for five years.

Shalini Mahajan Named Deputy Secretary in National Recruitment Agency
Shalini Mahajan, IES (2013 batch), has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the National Recruitment Agency under the Department of Personnel & Training, Delhi. Her four-year tenure will commence upon taking charge.

These appointments reflect the government’s continuing focus on strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring experienced leadership across its departments and agencies.
