In a significant push towards inclusive banking and financial security, a nation-wide campaign for saturation of Financial Inclusion (FI) schemes and re-KYC is currently underway across India. Spanning from July 1 to September 30, 2025, this campaign is being carried out at the Gram Panchayat (GP) level to bring banking services directly to rural doorsteps.

The initiative, led by banks in coordination with local administrations, aims to ensure that every eligible citizen is brought under the umbrella of essential financial services. Camps are being organised at the village level for the re-verification of KYC details in existing accounts—particularly Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accounts—as well as for the opening of new PMJDY accounts for unbanked adults.

The camps also focus on enrolment under key social security schemes:

– Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
– Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
– Atal Pension Yojana (APY)

These camps are not just about account formalities—they are being used to generate awareness about unclaimed deposits and to redress customer grievances on the spot.

With over 1.05 lakh camps conducted in the first month alone, the campaign has already reached one-third of India’s Gram Panchayats. The preliminary outcomes are encouraging:

– 6 lakh+ PMJDY accounts opened
– 7 lakh+ enrolments under PMJJBY
– Approximately 12 lakh enrolments under PMSBY.
– 3 lakh enrolments under APY.
– 14.22 lakh bank accounts updated through re-KYC.

The campaign also leverages the support of Business Correspondents (BCs), who are actively assisting banks in these camps to ensure no eligible person is left behind.

This massive grassroots-level effort is being closely monitored by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Citizens are urged to visit the ongoing camps in their respective Gram Panchayats and avail these services to secure their financial future. This campaign is not just about banking—it is about building a more financially inclusive and empowered India.
