Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Nava Raipur during his visit to the state. On his arrival, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Chief Secretary Vikasheel welcomed and escorted the Prime Minister to the venue of the Rajat Mahotsav celebrations marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s formation.

The Prime Minister also unveiled a statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recalling his vision in creating Chhattisgarh as a separate state. Addressing the gathering, Modi said that India’s journey of development is deeply rooted in its cultural and democratic heritage—a reflection seen in the design and spirit of the new Assembly building, which stands as a modern symbol of democracy and tradition.

During his day-long visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Shanti Shikhar of the Brahma Kumaris, a modern centre for spiritual learning and meditation, and interacted with children treated for congenital heart diseases at Shri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital under the “Dil Ki Baat” initiative.

Modi also inaugurated the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and the Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹14,000 crore across key sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, and energy.
