By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| A new chapter in India’s expanding railway and infrastructure ecosystem has begun with the signing of a Shareholders’ Agreement between Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. in New Delhi, marking the formation of a joint venture company aimed at strengthening rail manufacturing and infrastructure capabilities across global markets.

The partnership reflects a strategic alignment between two established players in the railway sector, combining project execution expertise with advanced engineering and manufacturing strengths. The newly formed joint venture will focus on integrated rail rolling stock solutions along with infrastructure development opportunities, not only within India but also across emerging markets in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

The initiative comes at a time when railway modernization and sustainable mobility are gaining momentum worldwide. Countries across developing regions are investing heavily in rail-based transportation systems to improve connectivity, reduce carbon emissions, and support economic growth. By pooling resources and technical expertise, the JV aims to position itself as a competitive global player capable of delivering end-to-end railway solutions.

From RVNL, the agreement ceremony witnessed the presence of CMD Saleem Ahmad along with senior leadership including Manish Agarwal, Principal Executive Director (Mechanical), and Ajit Singh, Principal Executive Director (Corporate Coordination and Business Development). Their participation highlighted the organization’s growing emphasis on international collaboration and diversification beyond traditional project execution roles.

Representing Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. were Saroj Kumar Poddar, Chairman of Adventz Group, and Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd., underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to expanding its footprint in railway manufacturing and engineering services.

Industry observers view this collaboration as a significant step toward building integrated railway capabilities that combine infrastructure creation with rolling stock manufacturing under a unified framework. Such partnerships are increasingly becoming essential as railway projects grow more complex, requiring seamless coordination between design, manufacturing, and execution.

The joint venture is also aligned with India’s broader vision of becoming a global hub for railway technology and manufacturing. With Indian companies steadily gaining recognition for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects efficiently, collaborations like this are expected to enhance export potential and strengthen India’s presence in international railway markets.

Beyond commercial objectives, the partnership is likely to contribute to technology transfer, skill development, and innovation in rail engineering. By targeting overseas opportunities alongside domestic projects, the JV seeks to leverage India’s engineering capabilities while addressing growing global demand for modern, reliable, and cost-effective rail solutions.

As railway infrastructure continues to play a central role in economic development and regional connectivity, the RVNL–Texmaco collaboration signals a forward-looking approach, combining experience, industrial capacity, and strategic vision to shape the future of rail mobility both in India and beyond.
