Centre Extends Deputation Tenure of Two IPS Officers in CBI

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The Competent Authority has approved the extension of deputation tenure of two senior IPS officers serving in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Ghanshyam Upadhyay, IPS (Odisha:1999), serving as Joint Director in the CBI, has been granted a two-year extension in deputation tenure from 30 June 2026 to 29 June 2028, taking his total tenure to seven years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Similarly, Rajiv Ranjan, IPS (Sikkim:2005), also serving as Joint Director in the CBI, has received a two-year extension from 31 May 2026 to 30 May 2028. His total deputation tenure in the premier investigating agency will also extend to seven years, or until further orders.
The extensions reflect continuity in leadership and operational experience within the CBI.
