By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|The Government of India has announced two key diplomatic appointments, reflecting a strategic reshuffle of its foreign service leadership. Soumendu Bagchi, currently Ambassador to Iraq, has been appointed Ambassador to Switzerland, while Ajay A. Kumar, presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry, will succeed him as Ambassador to Iraq. The appointments strengthen India’s diplomatic representation in both important bilateral relationships. Soumendu Bagchi is IFS officer of 1993 batch and Ajay A. Kumar is the IFS officer of 2001 batch.
