By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|New Delhi: A memorable meeting between the present and former leadership of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) brought together two generations of public administration and tourism leadership, as ITDC Managing Director Mugdha Sinha, IAS, welcomed former CMD S K Mishra, IAS (Retd), to her office.

Mishra, a veteran Haryana-cadre IAS officer who served as ITDC Chairman and Managing Director from 1980 to 1982, reached out to Sinha through LinkedIn and expressed his desire to visit the ITDC office. The meeting subsequently took place on Friday.

For Sinha, the interaction turned into an opportunity to listen to first-hand accounts of ITDC’s formative years and the evolution of India’s tourism administration. She described the conversation as a delightful experience, particularly appreciating Mishra’s recollections and experiences from his long administrative career.

The veteran administrator also presented Sinha with a signed copy of his autobiography, adding a personal touch to the meeting.

Born on October 8, 1932, Mishra, now 94, continues to draw admiration for his enthusiasm and remarkable energy. Sinha said his vitality at such an advanced age was “truly inspirational.”

The meeting also reflected the enduring institutional legacy of ITDC, where the experiences of its former leadership continue to offer valuable insights to those steering the organisation today.
