ABU DHABI / BHUBANESWAR: In a major push toward accelerating industrial transformation and attracting global capital, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi arrived in the United Arab Emirates on a five-day investment drive, initiating high-level engagements with top business leaders and government stakeholders.

Sharing insights into the delegation’s focus, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma emphasized that the state’s outreach extends beyond traditional investment promotion, aiming to establish long-term industrial partnerships, foster technology transfer, and create high-value employment.

Speaking on the vision behind the delegation, Chief Minister Majhi remarked, “Odisha has entered a new phase of industrial growth, and our engagement with the UAE is an important part of this journey. We are here not only to invite investment, but to build long-term partnerships based on trust, technology, value creation, and employment.”

Strategic Focus Areas & Engagements

Target Sectors: The delegation is showcasing Odisha’s port-led infrastructure, mineral-rich ecosystem, competitive power availability, and skilled workforce to attract FDI across manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and petrochemicals.
High-Level Meetings: Discussions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai feature key institutions including the International Holding Company (IHC), the Indian Business and Professional Group (IBPG), and UAE Minister of Investment Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi.
Sectoral Roundtable: Dedicated focus sessions are designed to pitch opportunities in the chemicals and petrochemicals sectors to global institutional investors.

Accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Chief Minister Majhi also interacted with the Indian diaspora, highlighting Non-Resident Odias as vital bridges for economic collaboration. The drive marks a pivotal chapter in positioning Odisha as a global manufacturing hub across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
