CIL EXTENDS HELPING HAND IN FANI CYCLONE RELIEF

Coal India Ltd has sent eleven generators to mitigate drinking water problems due to disruption of power lines by cyclone “Fani” in Odisha.

While three 125 KVA gensets have been sent to Cuttack from Jagannath Area of MCL, a 140 KVA, a 125 KVA and an 83 KVA genset have been sent to IDCO from Lingaraj Mines, Hingula Mines and Lakhanpur Mines of MCL respectively. At the request of the Collector of Sundergarh, MCL has despatched a 15 KVA genset from its Basundhara Mines to Bhubaneswar. MCL is also bearing the rental costs of four 10 KVA gensets at the request of the Collector of Sambalpur and is exploring possibilities of providing more gensets of less than 50 KVA capacity to further augment the relief work.

The Jagannath area in Talcher Coalfields of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. dispatched two truckloads of relief packets for distribution to the families affected by cyclone “Fani” in Puri, Odisha.

The relief packets made by the employees of Jagannath area comprise of puffed rice, jaggery, glucose powder, ORS, dry snacks, biscuits, water bottles and match boxes.
