Gurdeep Singh today has joined NPTC as CMD for the period of five years. Gurdeep Singh is power professional having over three decade of varied experience in different aspects of power generation sector starting from hands on experience in commissioning and operations to Chief Executive Officer. He has dealt with different areas of power generation business like Operations, Construction and Development and has demonstrated a track record both in Public sector and Private sector.

He has had a unique distinct career having worked at working level as well as at senior management both in the private sector and public sector. He has worked with leading power companies like NTPC ltd, Powergen PLC, CLP, AES, CESC and GSECL. 

He started his career as trainee engineer in NTPC Ltd after completing engineering in 1987 and worked through ranks to reach Managing Director-Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd.  GSECL has operational assets of 6394MW based on Coal, Lignite, Gas, Hydro, Wind and Solar. 4430MW coal based capacity comprises of domestic as well as imported coal based assets.
