(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) by Abul Hasan| In every city, there are unsung heroes whose quiet contributions transform the lives of generations. In Bhopal, one such legacy came alive at the “Nari Prerna evam Shikshak Alankaran Samaroh” organized by Rotary Club Bhopal Smart City (RID-3040) on September 13, 2025, at The Celebration Resort, Kolar Road. The evening was not merely a ceremony; it was a celebration of dedication, gratitude, and the timeless bond between teachers and their students.

Among those who stood out was Mrs. Poonam Jindal, an alumna of Cambridge Higher Secondary School, who played a pivotal role in facilitating the felicitation of teachers. Her gesture of honoring mentors reflected not just respect but also a heartfelt acknowledgment of the values she imbibed at Cambridge. For Poonam, this was more than an event—it was a way of expressing gratitude to those who laid the foundation of countless futures.

At the “Nari Prerna evam Shikshak Alankaran Samaroh” hosted by Rotary Club Bhopal Smart City, several luminary teachers and social workers were felicitated. Among them were Shibani Ghosh, Asha Srivastava, Mohabi Unnisiya, Sonal Mehta, Mohd Anas Siddiqui, Sanjay Sahu (Saanj NGO), Ruchita Jain, Reeta Moolchandani (Trilnga Bhopal). Their contribution as educators and social reformers was celebrated with deep respect and admiration.

The spotlight also shone brightly on Mohd Anas Siddiqui, a revered commerce educator whose name has become synonymous with excellence in Bhopal’s academic circles. Fondly remembered as Anas Sir, he has been a mentor, guide, and reformer for commerce students since the 1980s. Known for his unique teaching methods that could transform even an average learner into a high achiever, Siddiqui’s influence has been nothing short of revolutionary. His classrooms were more than spaces of academic instruction—they were workshops of confidence, discipline, and performance.

Students of the 80s and 90s recall how Anas Sir instilled not just concepts of commerce, but also a belief in their own potential. Many attribute their success in professional and personal spheres to the life lessons they absorbed under his guidance.

The ceremony, graced by Rotary Club President Aseem Jindal and Secretary Harminder Singh Hoora, was a testament to the club’s commitment to recognizing those who work tirelessly for the betterment of society. By honouring teachers like Mohd Anas Siddiqui, and with the graceful involvement of former students like Poonam Jindal, the event highlighted the deep-rooted culture of respect for educators in Bhopal.

Such initiatives remind us that while classrooms may fade with time, the lessons and inspiration imparted by true educators remain etched forever. As the applause echoed in the hall, it became clear that the legacy of teachers like Anas Siddiqui continues to illuminate the path for generations, and the gratitude expressed by students like Poonam Jindal ensures that this light never dims.
