India Unites in Spirit and Strength: Yoga Day 2025, A Testament to PM Narendra Modi’s Global Vision
By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA | Abul Hasan

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi stood before the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 and proposed the celebration of International Day of Yoga, few could have foreseen the profound ripple it would cause across continents. It was not merely a diplomatic pitch—it was a declaration of India’s civilizational gift to the world. Eleven years later, that vision continues to uplift lives globally, symbolizing India’s soft power, spiritual heritage, and commitment to holistic health.

Observed on June 21, 2025, the 11th International Day of Yoga resonated deeply with this year’s theme—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health”—perfectly echoing the essence of interconnected well-being between individuals and the planet. The worldwide participation is a living tribute to Modi’s far-sighted initiative that reintroduced yoga as a universal tool for peace, strength, and unity.

A Visionary Prime Minister, A Global Movement

Narendra Modi has not just promoted yoga internationally—he has elevated it to a diplomatic and cultural bridge between nations. His efforts led to a record-breaking endorsement at the UN, with 177 nations co-sponsoring the Yoga Day resolution in 2014. Today, his consistent advocacy ensures that yoga is not confined to ashrams or studios, but practiced from the icy Arctic to the African savannah, from Silicon Valley offices to Himalayan villages.

Thanks to his global vision, yoga is now part of international wellness summits, corporate boardrooms, educational syllabi, and military fitness programs. With every passing year, Modi’s initiative deepens its roots, aligning mind and body across geographies.
