Over two thousand applications gush for PM’s Award on April 21, Civil Service Day,

Out of those 1,515 applications were received from about 600 districts across states and Union Territories under the priority programmes category, and another 830 applications were received from organizations of Central or state government/district under the innovation category.There will be a maximum of
15 awards under the priority programme category and 2 awards under the innovation category.
The districts across the country and Central and state government organisations were motivated to compete for the award — the reason why there has been a very good participation this time. The applications were submitted online between January 1, 2017 and January 25, 2017.
Following priority programmes have been identified for awards under the scheme.1. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY)
2. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)
3. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY)
4. e – National Agriculture Market (e-NAM)
5. Standup India/ Startup India
Also, the PM’s awards will be given to organizations of Central or state government or district for innovations in environment conservation, disaster management, water conservation, energy, education and health, women and child centric initiatives etc., according to a perennial ministry statement. The nodal ministry for executing the award scheme is the department of administrative reforms and public grievances (DARPG) under the ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions.
The last year’s winners were: 1. For the priority programme Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJSY)
a) Nagaon, Assam in North East and hill states category.
b) Chandigarh in UTs
c) North 24 Parganas, West Bengal in other states group.
2. Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin)
a) West Sikkim in North East and hill states category
b) Bikaner, Rajasthan in other states category respectively.
3. Under Swachh Vidyalaya programme:
a) Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir in North East and hill states category
b) Dadra and Nagar Haveli in UT category
c) Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh in other states group.
4. In the implementation of Soil Health Card Scheme
a) Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh North East and Hill states category.
b) Balrampur, Chhattisgarh in other states category.
