Trauma Care Centre inaugurated at JNPT Hospital

Mumbai, July 12, 2019: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) today inaugurated their Trauma Care Centre at JNPT hospital in the township area. This Trauma Care Centre will be operational around the clock and will be a huge asset for the community at large, because it will provide specialized medical assistance in the case of a major trauma or causality.

The setting up of the Trauma Care Centre is a key initiative by the Port to enhance the healthcare services and facilities under its commitment towards community development, especially since the vicinity of the Port is a heavy traffic zone.Speaking on the inauguration,Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPT said, “Trauma Care Centre is a Requisite in hospitals because timely medical help is very crucial in order to save a life, especially in the case of any major accident wherein the medical aid should be given within the first golden hour. We hope that the Trauma Care Centre will be an added benefit to the people around the Port and further strengthen our endeavour in enhancing the quality of lives in and around JNPT.” JNPT is currently running 50-bedded hospital which offers medical aid not only to JNPT employees and their dependents, but also to patients from the nearby villages, emergency cases and individuals who are visiting the Port, related to port activities. JNPT is also the first major port to start the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana at their Hospital, to provide quality medicines to common masses at an affordable cost and now with the Trauma Care Centre, JNPT is equipped to provide the
best healthcare facilities to the people in the vicinity.
