Amid stormy scenario at centre, Rishi Kumar Shukla takes over as Director CBI

1983 batch MP cadre IPS Officer and the Madhya Pradesh’s former Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla on Monday took charge as the new Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the day when the investigating agency is in the middle of a pitched battle against Kolkata police.
RK Shukla was reshuffled from his post as DPG to Chairman MP Police Housing Corporation in Madhya Pradesh by Kamal Nath, Government.
His first day in office is likely to be stormy as the CBI is moving Supreme Court after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordered Kolkata Police to stop a CBI team from reaching Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar’s residence.
