GoI makes M Nageshwar Rao as interim Director CBI

New Delhi: CBI chief Alok Verma,Rakesh Asthana the Special Director and several other officers of CBI have been sent on leave amid tug of war in the country’s top investigating agency. M Nageshwar Rao took over as interim director very early on Wednesday, hours after a late-night government order which will be challenged by Alok Verma in the Supreme Court.
Nageswar Rao, a 1986 batch officer, supersedes Rakesh Asthana and was joint director of the CBI or Central Bureau of Investigation.
