(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) New Delhi, – The Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services, has announced key appointments in the banking sector.

As per an official notification, D Surendran currently serving as Chief General Manager at Canara Bank has been appointed as Executive Director of Punjab National Bank (PNB). His tenure will commence from the date he assumes charge and will continue until his superannuation on 31.05.2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Additionally, S K Majumdar also Chief General Manager at Canara Bank, has been appointed as Executive Director of Canara Bank for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

These appointments have been made under the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening leadership in public sector banks.
