RK Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC flagged off bikers of ‘Samaarambh Foundation’

R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC flagged off bikers of ‘Samaarambh Foundation’ from NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad on 6th October 2024 as part of NHPC’s CSR initiative ‘Shiksha Rath 7.0’, aimed at empowering children and communities in seven remote border villages of Ladakh along the Line of Control (LOC). Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel)-NHPC, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects)-NHPC, senior NHPC officers, about 250 bikers and members of Samaarambh Foundation were also present on this occasion. The Shiksha Rath 7.0 initiative being implemented by NHPC through, Samaarambh Foundation (an NGO) with the total project cost of Rs.91.55 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC said, “NHPC has always recognized its responsibility towards society and our CSR initiatives reflect our values and dedication to the community and the environment.” He further added. “Through Shiksha Rath 7.0, we are proud to support the upliftment of the needy in the seven border villages of Ladakh”. In his address Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC said, “Shiksha Rath 7.0 is not only about providing better education and health awareness but also creating self-reliant, empowered communities.”Director (Personnel), NHPC also highlighted that through such projects, NHPC would reach to the last most remote villages of border areas.
The Shiksha Rath 7.0 initiative focuses on improving education, raising health and menstrual hygiene awareness, conducting skill development programmes and promoting self-employment opportunities for self-help groups and families. The project’s beneficiaries include the villages of Turtuk, Tyakshi, Thang-Chathang, Bogdang, Chalunkha, Dhotang and Thang. Shiksha Rath 7.0 would include activities as installation of sanitary pad vending machines, distribution of educational materials, providing Charkha and handloom machines, installation of a star-gazing telescope, beautification of two homes in each village and distribution of sports items. Out of 250 bikers which were flagged off, 12 bikers shall go to Ladakh as part of on-ground implementation team.
